What Is A Plant Mister

A plant mister is a device that is used to spray plants with water. The purpose of misters are to provide the plant with the humidity they aren’t receiving from their environments. Many plants originally come from humid environments and when they’re bought as houseplants they aren’t getting the moisture that they need.

One way to combat this is to use a mister. A mister is a bottle that has a nozzle attached to the top and you use it to spray water onto your plants to provide them with the moisture they need. The nozzles can often be altered so you are able to spray a fine mist or a more intense stream of water into your plant.

Misters come in a variety of shapes, sizes, colours and materials. The most common material you’ll find is plastic. Plastic misters are cheap to make and easy to use but they often aren’t as popular as they aren’t as attractive as some of the other materials used.

Other common materials that are used for misters include glass, brass, copper and other metals. These misters tend to be more decorative and can be added to a plant display rather than hidden in a cupboard ready for a misting session.

The majority of misters will have a small handle for ease of use though some will require you to hold the body of the mister. They come in a variety of sizes with different capacities. The more decorative ones tend to have a lower capacity and the practical plastic ones tend to come with a greater capacity so you won’t haven’t change them too often.

Whether you value the decorative features or a larger tank is completely up to you but regardless of your preference there should be something for your botanical needs.

As for price, misters won’t set you back a lot of money. They are a relatively cheap alternative to buying a humidifier but if you want a particularly fancy one then you can splash out a bit extra for something nice.
