Calathea Musaica are easy to care for compared to other Calathea plants but it’s important for us to remember that they are Calathea plants and Calathea plants can be notoriously fussy.
Things that make them more difficult to care for is that they like to be watered often and prefer things a bit moist. If you’re the type of person who wants a nice looking plant but will forget to water them for weeks on end then a Calathea isn’t going to be the plant for you. However if you don’t mind watering your plant once a week or when it needs it and you’re ok to check the soil every now and then then this shouldn’t be too difficult.
Secondly they like things a bit humid. So if you live in a dry area, you don’t have a humidifier and you don’t want to have to remember to mist your plant then a Calathea Musaica won’t be an easy plant for you to care for. However if you live somewhere humid or buy a humidifier then this isn’t going to be an issue.
A third potential option is that these plants can be a bit sensitive to light. They need bright light but if placed under direct sunlight they can easily become scorched and damaged. It’s important you find the right placement for these plants or you will see them looking very sorry for themselves. This can be quite stressful for a new houseplant owner but if you avoid strong rays from the sun and you don’t place it far from a light source it shouldn’t give you too much trouble.
Overall we would say that Calathea Musica isn’t a difficult plant to look after but it does require a little bit more effort than something like a cactus or succulent. So rather than thinking will this plant be too difficult for me to look after you may want to think am I able to give it the care it needs. If the answer is yes then this can be an easy plant to take care of if the answer is no then don’t worry, there are plenty of other beautiful plants that could be the right one for you.
