Hoya Lacunosa belong to the Hoya family and are a relatively easy plant to care for. We have a more in depth care guide but if you’re looking for something snappy then here are the major care points for looking after one of these waxy little plants.
Humidity
Hoya Lacunosa is a tropical plant so likes to be kept humid. If you can provide this plant with a high humidity environment then it should do well. However it can tolerate moderate and lower levels if you are unable to. If you want to understand this more then take a look at why does Hoya Lacunosa need humidity?
Lighting
First off they like bright light. They don’t like to be kept in low light conditions and will do badly under these conditions. If you live somewhere that receives full sun all the time then you may want to pull your plant slightly away from the light source or provide it with some shade. However, if you live in a climate like Northern Europe then give your Hoya Lacunosa bright direct light and you should see it flourish.
Watering
One of the most important things is how often to water your Hoya. Now Hoyas are plants that don’t like to sit in water so you don’t need to water your Hoya Lacunosa too regularly. Allow the top two inches of soil to dry out between waterings and make sure your pot has adequate drainage holes to allow the water to flow right through so the plant only takes up what it needs.
Soil
Your Hoya Lacunosa needs loose well draining soil, we would recommend using a well balanced mix and adding perlite. Repot your Hoya at the start of the growing season if it needs to be repotted in a pot the next size up.
